For Your Information - FYI
ADULT SUBSTANCES: Legal adult substances shall only be consumed in accordance with local, state and federal laws. Persons who wish to use adult substances in the campgrounds shall do so with discretion and consideration of the other members in the park. Marijuana use in the public areas of the park will not be tolerated. For the purpose of this policy, public areas are anywhere on SRW property other than within the boundaries of a members campsite. The SRW managers will enforce this policy. SRW adheres to all local, state and federal laws and will cooperate fully with local law enforcement officials.
ALUMINUM CANS: Please deposit aluminum CANS ONLY in designated containers throughout the campground. NO aluminum foil, cardboard, glass, plastic or paper bags, please empty your bag of cans into container. All proceeds from recycled aluminum cans goes towards paying for cable TV in the Lodge.
BICYCLES: Park bicycles in the designated areas outside the lodge and pool house. Do not leave bikes in front of entrances or in vehicle parking areas. Observe “ONE WAY” signs on main roadway throughout park and keep speed down to 5 M. P. H. Road signs apply to bicycles the same as vehicles.
BURN PILE: The burn pile is located down the road to the river past restroom #1, on the right at the bottom of the hill. Put limbs, brush and debris in designated areas. Small limbs and debris may be burned on your site if there are no other campers who may be bothered by the smoke, and only if fire danger is “low”.
CONSTRUCTION: Any construction on your site must be pre-approved by the site Caretaker/Manager. Forms are available in the office and outside the office on the wall next to the drop box. Please complete the forms and place in the drop box. You will be contacted with approval. 1 wood shed and 1 storage shed is allowed per site.
DRIVEWAYS: Please help keep you circle driveway raked and clean.
DROP BOX: When the office is unattended please drop your messages, forms, checks, etc. in the drop-box located to the right of the office door.
DUES: Monthly dues are $52 (effective 7/1/14) for the first site and $39 for each additional site (U.S. funds). Dues are due the first of each month. You may pay as many months in advance as you’d like. Please make out your checks to Skagit River Woods and mail to Skagit River Woods, P.O. Box 945 Burlington, WA 98233. PLEASE DO NOT PAY YOUR DUES AT THE CAMP OFFICE.
ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE: Anyone wishing to volunteer for the social/entertainment committee to plan events, social activities, and fund raisers, please contact any board member or the site Caretaker/Managers.
FIREARMS AND FIREWORKS: No fireworks are allowed in park. No hunting is allowed in park. The use of firearms and/or other weapons are prohibited.
FIRES: Build your campfire carefully and keep it small when fire danger is Low or Moderate. NO FIRES are allowed when fire danger is HIGH or there is a burn ban in effect. (Skagit River Woods’s bylaws require a $500 fine for burning during a Burn Ban) State law requires that you never leave a fire burning unattended at any time, and all fires must be completely extinguished before leaving your campsite. Fires must not include plastic or any other materials that emit dense smoke or create offensive odors when burned. Small branches and debris from your campsite may be burned on your site as long as its smoke doesn’t offend a nearby camper. If your fire creates a nuisance or danger from smoke or flying ash, it must be extinguished. YOU MUST HAVE A WATER HOSE OR WATER BUCKET BY THE FIRE.
FIREWOOD: No firewood or logs are to be taken from campground unless approved by the site Caretaker/Manager and/or Board of Directors.
GATE: Members are responsible to meet their guests at the gate to let them in. Only one car through the gate at a time, and wait for the gate to close.
GUESTS: Members are responsible for their guest’s actions. Please make sure your guests are aware of our rules and regulations.
INFRACTIONS OF STATE, COUNTY OR FEDERAL LAWS: Such as underage drinking, driving while under the influence, theft, vandalism, etc… will be dealt with accordingly by the local police. The Site Manager/Caretaker will call the police if any serious laws are violated and the Board of Directors will be notified. The Board of Directors will decide if any further disciplinary actions will be taken.
KEY CARDS: Key Cards are $16.23 ($15.00 + 1.23 tax) and a replacement card is $3.50
Please note if you replace a lost or damaged card the gate access with the old card will be turned off. DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR KEY CARD TO FRIENDS OR RELATIVES THAT ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE “MEMBERS ONLY” SECTION OF THE BYLAWS.
LODGE: To assure non-conflicting activity times, prior scheduling must be made with the site Caretaker/Manager for any guest group activity in the lodge and/or pool. A scheduled event in the lodge or pool by a member does not preclude other members from using the facility; it does prevent another member from using lodge for an event (gathering of number of people). Large groups at the pool may be asked to leave if the pool area gets too crowded to allow members access. Members take priority over guests in the pool area.
LODGE RESTRICTIONS: Children 8 years old and under are not permitted in the lodge unless accompanied by a responsible person 12 years of age or older. Also remember children are allowed on the ground floor only, they will be allowed on the second floor only if they are with their parents/or supervising adult, and no one under 18 is allowed on the third floor for any reason. All members are directly responsible for their children and grandchildren, as well as any of their guest’s children and grandchildren. STAYING OVERNIGHT IN THE LODGE IS NOT ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS: Are held yearly on Saturday 1:00 PM during Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. We encourage all members to attend; we need your input.
MEMBERS ONLY: Only immediate family (father, mother, husband, wife, child, grandchild, brother, sister) of a member may use your lot without the member being on site. No other relatives or friends may use your site unless you are with them.
MOTORCYCLES / MOPEDS: If street legal, can be used on SRW property. Unlicensed or non-street legal vehicles are prohibited unless a medical exception may be obtained through the Board of Directors. Check the bylaws for a thorough description of the rules. Motorcycles/Mopeds may not be used for "joy riding" around SRW property. SRW encourages all members to walk around the park rather than drive to maintain a pleasant camping environment.
NO TRESPASSING: To respect the privacy of other members, please do not cut through other member’s lots or cul-du-sacs other than your own. The only exception would be if you have permission from another member to cross their lot and permission from all of the members of that cul-de-sac to go through their cul-de-sac.
PETS: All pets shall be on a leash or confined to member’s campsite and under the members control at all times. A barking dog left in a member’s campsite will be considered a nuisance according to the parks bylaws. Please clean up after your pet.
POOL: Pool is open from around May 20th to mid September. Please observe our pool rules, and please instruct your guests to read the rules prior to using our pool. The pool area has a limited capacity, which is governed by Skagit County. Due to this limited capacity if the pool area has too many people the site manager/caretaker may have to request that some people leave the pool area until such a time that there is space for them. In this case a members’ use of the pool will take priority over another members guests.
QUIET TIME: Quiet time is from 10:00 PM to 9:00AM. Please turn down voices and music and turn off generators, chain saws, etc. Music should be contained within your campsite at all times. No power equipment (chainsaws, leaf blowers, power tools, etc….) that generates loud noise can be used before 10:00am or after 8:00pm. Generators may be used between the hours of 9:00am to 10:00pm – no exceptions. Generators cannot be left running unattended in your campsite. If a member or guest is going to leave their campsite for any extended period of time, such as to go to the clubhouse, pool, walk around the park and especially if they are leaving the park grounds, the member or guests’ generator must be shut off while they are not in their campsite.
RADIO: Our site Caretaker/Managers monitor the radio. There is a radio mounted on the outside of the club office and one at the main gate for your use.
SPEED LIMIT: 5-MPH speed limit throughout the park will be enforced. Walkers and joggers have the right of way. Please drive cautiously! Speeding in the park by you or your guests will be considered an infraction against your membership privileges. The speed limit also applies to bicycles.
SUGGESTIONS: We welcome your suggestions and comments as they can be very helpful in determining how to satisfy our growing number of members and to make your camping experience more enjoyable. Please drop your comments or suggestions in the Drop Box at the office, or give them directly to the Caretaker/Manager or call (360) 826-3132. Please sign your suggestions, so if we have any questions concerning your suggestion we can contact you. It would expedite implementation of your suggestions if they were given directly to the manager without involving a board member. However, if after contacting the Caretaker/Manager you feel it is necessary to contact the board you may do so by giving your comments or suggestions to any board member or mailing to: Skagit River Woods Board of Directors, Attn: Board President, 38120 Cape Horn Road, Concrete WA 98273.
TARPS: When putting up a tarp or replacing your old tarp please use only approved fire rated tarps. For tarps over campsites or RV’s, you must not extend your supporting ropes, wires, etc., into the green belts. Info is available at office. All tarps over fire pits must be approved.
TARP FRAMES: Tarp framework may consist of metal tubing, PVC, or wood; and it must be painted or finished to blend in with the natural surroundings of the woods. These frames must be for supporting overhead tarps only and must not be enclosed. A plan must be submitted and the design approved by the site Caretaker/Manager prior to erection of any structure on your site. This structure must not be permanent (no in ground cement or concrete footing), and must be movable. NO additional structures including those over RV’s will be allowed.
TRASH: Do not bring trash or debris into park from home! Our dumpsters are for camp waste only. Deposit your campsite trash at the dump station ONLY, not in the trash containers in picnic areas and not in the waste paper baskets in the restrooms. Please crush plastic and cardboard containers to reduce our volume of garbage; and separate your aluminum cans from your trash, so we don’t have to pay to have them hauled away instead of receiving payment for recycling them. Also remember: The following items are not allowed in dumpsters: Metal (such as lawn chairs, etc.), tires, wood, ferns, raked up debris, fire pit ashes, paint, batteries, chemicals or other hazardous materials. Thank you.
TREE REMOVAL: All trees are the property of the club. Any tree removal must be pre-approved by the site Caretaker/Manager. Forms are available in the office and outside the office on the wall next to the drop box.
VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are needed to help with our many grounds and building projects. Volunteers are always appreciated to help maintain and improve our beautiful campground. Please contact the Site Managers / Caretakers for details. Thanks for your help!
WATER: Please remember, we are purchasing water from the local water district, so we need all of our campers to conserve water to keep our water bill down. Please report any leaky faucets, spigots, toilets or showers to the Site Manager/Caretaker. If you have a leaky faucet in your campsite, please repair it. Members are responsible for the water hookups in their own campsites. If you need assistance fixing a leak, ask the Site Managers/Caretakers. If they can’t help you they may know another member who can.
